you know those posts where ppl are like “don’t use any pronouns for ur baby it might be trans or nonbinary!!!!” it could just as easily be cis. how about instead of deciding for them that they’ll just have no pronouns or only go by they/them you just use their assigned gender and pronouns but let them know that if they want you to call them something different that its okay to speak up. you can’t chose everything for your child so just be there for them.

exactly. and a lot of people want to name their kids gender neutral names which is cool and I know they mean well, but some trans people want to change their name just because it reminds them of their old self. not always, but sometimes. or they’d feel more comfortable using a more masculine or feminine name. whatever the reason, it’s not guaranteed that your child will not want to change their name just because it’s “unisex.” name your kid whatever you want but make sure they KNOW that it’s totally okay to change their name or pronouns and that you’ll always love and support them.
