each flower in the piece has a meaning associated:
forget-me-nots, whose western meaning is quite obvious, especially with how it ties in with Hanzo and Genji’s stories :’) ;
sakura blossoms, which bloom in Hanamura;
white chrysanthemums, which are symbolic of truth and grief in japan, and are often used at funerals;
and finally freesias, which are symbols of childishness and immaturity in japan also
the kanji is Genji’s ultimate saying~
