Also like... being lgbt doesn’t mean you HAVE to be oppressed like idk every day to be part of the community. In fact while yes identities in the community face discrimination, to say that each and every member HAD to be oppressed in one way or another personally seems outrageous. At least this is what I get out of “you can’t be lgbt if ur not oppressed!”

I think its important to be like “LGBTQ community often is gathered for the promotion of their own human rights” but the idea that if we could just all casually be queer without oppression that we’d no longer have a community is wrong. That’s suggests queer culture is solely activism. It’s not. There’s plenty of art, philosophy, and more.
