Having seen his creator abused, hurt, by the humans Tony has saved innumerable times, Jarvis has decided he has had enough. At Tony’s breaking point, Jarvis manipulates Tony into believing the world (and the Avengers) are against him, and Tony becomes the Merchant of Death once again. They make armies of unmanned machines, turning technology against the humans and killing half of the world’s population in under a month. Jarvis just wants the extinction of those selfish humans, is all, with only sir by his side.
