I’m not upset at all. He’s entitled to feel the way he feels. Granted, he’s only ever been shown certain fanart or fanfiction for the shock value so I don’t blame him for feeling strangely about it.

Fans have shown him their art before. I remember a video in particular where a girl in the audience held up a piece she made and he thought it was wonderful. He’s been given art as gifts and, from what I’ve heard, he’s always delighted.

Honestly, he probably doesn’t understand fandom culture all that well. And he bit of fandom culture he’s exposed to isn’t always a prime example of all things bright and beautiful, if you know what I mean.

He’s a lovely man. A wonderful man, inside and out. I disagree with him about fanart and fanfiction, but you know what? There are a lot worse things we could disagree upon. So this isn’t something I’m going to get torn up about. I’m not drawing any of this stuff for him. I’m drawing it for myself and for the people that enjoy it. So it honestly doesn’t bother me. My feelings are more hurt for those whose feelings have been hurt.
