Basically it’s an AU that rich merchant!Bilbo got kidnapped by a group of 13 thieves(erm…gentleman thieves), and then clear the thieves’ food reserves and teach thief leader!Thorin about aristocratic stuffs lol

Shinsengumi AU
During the Bakumatsu period in Japan, there was a special police force founded in 1864 called the Shinsengumi. The Shinsengumi’s main purpose was to protect the Shogun and the bakufu government from various factions of rebels (loyalists) who sought to overthrow the bakufu. Many of them became the infamous “ronin-hunters” who patrolled the streets and countryside, looking to arrest loyalist ronin to keep them from carrying out actions that would lead to the overthrow of the bakufu.

I got to meet hizsi and tankhera and was honored to get to Thorin with them for a few pictures! Why are all the Thorins I’ve met such lovely people? I just wish I’d gotten a picture of all the Thorins at Evening at Bree.

Fact: timevstheworld comes up with great AU headcanons where Modern AU Smaug is actually a circus owner, and not only is the ringmaster but a performer as well.

Continuation of this post of the Cinderella AU where Bilbo is turned into a dwarf by Gandalf, his fairy godmother, to attend an exclusive party.
Later, when Thorin realizes Bilbo can’t understand Khuzdul he believes that Bilbo has grown up under an abusive family (no) and has been wrongly depraved all his life of Mahal’s precious language (also wrong). He later takes upon himself to teach Bilbo Khuzdul. Bilbo always leaves before midnight and Thorin thinks he’s under a curfew from his abusive family (wrong too) and follows him home.
