I hope that it never stops being extremely satisfying to draw and work on my Cumbersmaug design. Anatomy splicing is my soul.

I was struggling to hop on the bandwagon where Smaug is drawn humanized because I couldn’t design him clothing that was interesting enough. So I referenced various Japanese and Chinese garments in an attempt to do something that was not done before. Dragons in more Eastern-style clothing are gorgeous as well. There’s more to come in this series, as I’m addicted to it, and I will most likely color these.

Fact: timevstheworld comes up with great AU headcanons where Modern AU Smaug is actually a circus owner, and not only is the ringmaster but a performer as well.
It lead to pretty things and aerial silks and me listening to a tonne of dark cabaret.
