I had intended to use more watercolor than ink lines, and be more abstract, which is why they’re hella baby faced XD Spend time on your undersketches!!!
This is the same artist who did that beautiful kiss animation that’s been going around. This is so exquisite. I immediately thought of Chris Van Allsburg, who wrote and illustrated so many of my favorite children’s books, except that Allsburg’s humans never looked quite right, quite real. This lighting, this gentle crispness, the mesmerizing textures of hair and knitting and veined skin, and the emotion — like looking at someone with a scarred face, like something too personal and near to the heart. And that one strange, bold white line around Sherlock’s lapel, like a clue. Almost real, but not quite. Look closer.
It’s a Mystery of Harris Burdick. It’s a war photo. It’s a love story. It’s remarkable.

Sherlock watched the doctor faze out after his final string of words. John was a dweller, worrier. Sherlock was clearly alive before him, but he still seemed burdened by the idea that he had been dead. “Well, you’ve made your decision now- you can be yourself, again.” It wouldn’t be that easy, though Sherlock wouldn’t understand. “And it is a foolish decision, but you’ve tied my hands and I’ve nothing left but to accept it, even if bitterly. Your stubbornness might kill you alongside me, but-” he sighed, though it sounded more of relief than anger, “-we’ll just have to share a coffin, I suppose.”
-“Oh, God, share a coffin? With you?” John muttered, humour lacing his words. “I thought 221B was enough.”

This is totally how I saw this scene. As a preparation (symbol of) for John/Sherlock intimacy. <3
Now, we’ve seen sherlock kissed (almost) by a man, now we’ve seen Sherlock’s hand kissed by a man and that man almost kiss him, again.
People are being, ‘primed’, and desensitised for John and Sherlock’s relationship. Well, those that need it. :)
So now we’ve had two make-believe kissing scenes, one gay and one straight. We’ve also had two majorly cringeworthy kisses, one gay and one straight. It does seem like they want us used to Sherlock being kissed. They want us to go “didn’t happen, didn’t happen, eww Janine stop it, no Magnussen ew eww ewwwwwww” and then think about who should be kissing him instead.
Yes! Exactly! Why do all these people who shouldn’t keep kissing him? :) And we all know who should. :)
