Mini Khan is used to dangerous environments and sleeping with one eye open all the time, so he only truly relaxes and sleeps deeply in situations where he feels 100% safe, such as when he is held tightly in the arms of someone he trusts.
Kirk finds that so adorable that he doesn’t even mind the discomfort of carrying him around everywhere.
