dashiana:

My Overwatch OC, Shinjuko. Not intended as a hero, but rather, a lore character. She is the omnic   leader of a powerful crime syndicate called Ayame-Kai (also known as “Order of the Godflower”). She is collected, ruthless, calculative and vain to the point of theatrics. Likes the finer things in life. I have other outfit ideas for her as well, but intended this one as a … sort of a ceremonial/”receiving guests” type of deal. It’s inspired by ceremonial oiran/tayu kimonos as well as pre-existing omnics we’ve seen.

when you make OCs, and later find out they look kinda like characters from an existing series

When you write/think their stories and  later find out they are very similar like characters from an existing series.

When your OCs have been established for years but characters from recent popular shows look very similar to them

yes…

This has happened to me…

I present to you my most recent objecthead OC: Bell.

In the TPoH universe, they’re a wandering monster who collect other monsters’ life stories, since they forgot their name and human life long ago (they obviously named themselves after their object looks, I’m so creative) and had to find a new purpose in order not to completely vanish from existence. They will “leave” as soon as they consider their purpose fulfilled, just like the pink flowers.

The picture is really big, so if you click on the image in a new tab you’ll be able to see the details better. I guess.

“Lex” sketches… because art gets really boring sometimes. The second one I added some Photoshop effects to even though the picture doesn’t really deserve such glamorization

This has been floating around my computer’s memory for a LONG time, and I finally got around finishing it. It’s not the most clever concept, or the cleanest color… but I’m just happy I got it done.

I needed to see all of these together. NEEDED TO. Three years ago I started off this character, Jesse Ridgehart, and look at how far he got. Just this ONE dude. Sure, I’ve done way more than pencil sketches of some random OC over the years, but come on, this is pretty darn impressive. :)

(My Jack-o-lantern from Halloween with a few touch-ups done on photoshop)

With his straight posture revealing his full height, fingers outstretched to caress the air, wing-like cape stretched out, and head held high; the artiste was the model of nobility, the perfection of elegance. One final time, he filled his chest with air, and breathed fire. For that moment, he was almost a dragon himself as he produced an expanding jet of fire up towards the skies as though there was no limit to the lofty heights of the tent’s peak.

The last sparks of fire glittered and snapped in the air before vanishing. Smoke lingered longest as the last evidence of the once-powerful fire, smelling of old paint and scorched wood.

The succeeding hail of applause enveloped his ears; thunderous, hearty, and genuine.

                                The sound of success.
