I got a lot of asks about this so I made a tutorial on how I was able to emulate the 80s aesthetic, please keep in mind I’m not an expert and what I put here is just what I personally did. I hope you guys like it and hope it helps

ELIMINATED HANZO SHIMADA
Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve, my lovestruck Japanese boi <3

Steven and Connie are my children; I’m so proud of them. I completed this print for the 2016 Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo, and didn’t have the opportunity to post it here until now. Enjoy!

Here’s the Crystal Gems (Steven Universe) print that I did for the 2016 Edmonton Expo! I’ve been meaning to post it for awhile but have been ridiculously busy.

I wanted to make an image that I could use on a business card! In addition, I had another project in mind that I wanted to make a digital polygon work for as well, so I managed to tackle multiple things by learning how to do this!
I used photoshop, and followed this tutorial. It’s a much more manual process, but that allows more lenience with selecting, subtracting, and adding detail. Tedious, but had the effect and level of control I wanted. I used several photos as a base (deer head, antlers, wreath, roses), as well as the cutout tool to help simplify colors.

Lionfish concept that I never finished coloring ehehe

The second most dangerous man in London
Sebastian Moran as a Doberman, because I thought that the temperament and physical features of the breed suited him well. Still working through whether or not I like this better than Tiger Moran… It’s a tough pick.
I kept a long tail on him even though technically he should have a clipped one if his ears were pinned upright.

Love on the water, love underwater, love, love and so on.

Colours are absolutely incidental, I’m not implying anything *innocent face*.
