Yo, what’s up with that coloring ‘price’ (or lack thereof)?:
Listen, I value my art and my time. And unlike my sketching/lining times, my coloring times vary wildly depending on various factors of the image (size, complexity, BG vs. no/simple BG). This means one of two things is going to happen if I lock in a singular flat price: I’m either going to undercharge, which is no fun for me. Or I’m going to overcharge, which is no fun for you.
So, I’ve opted for this method. I’m going to charge you how long it took me at my chosen rate and be done with it. Just tell me if you want me to keep things simple (top three) or if you want me to go all out (bottom three). Simple vs. All Out could mean your final cost sits around $30/$40 instead of $50+.
If you want a fully painted image (like the bottom 3) for the cost of a print at a convention, there’s other artists out there underselling themselves that you can touch base with.

I have a physical/neurological disability that makes me extremely vulnerable, as I can’t be upright without serious physical harm. I also don’t have the ability to work so I have very low income. (medical evidence, income evidence)
Recently I was referred to a mental health team without my consent. They are the sort of mental health service known for trying to institutionalise disabled people and I have been mistreated by similar services in the past.
The mental health team requires that I have adequate medical and nursing services in place or they will intervene with coercive psychiatric processes that will end up seriously harming me.
I cannot leave my room without being transferred by a private paramedic service which is the only company in Sydney that can provide adequate spinal support. I cannot access this right now because I owe them thousands in bills. (link to invoices)
My GP hasn’t been able to arrange a home visit so far. I need to broaden my options, specifically I need to pay off my paramedic bills so I can see him in his practice if needed and see my neurologist.
The mental health team has also been monitoring my contact with my home care agency, and I would need to pay about $200/week to this agency to maintain consistent home care to keep the mental health team happy.
I have an appointment with my neurologist on 17th March, and the mental health team knows this. I need to pay off my paramedic bills by then so that they don’t think that I’m unable to maintain my paramedic bills and travel to essential appointments.
I’m still in contact with the case worker who referred me to the mental health team without my consent. I can’t stop working with her under the current circumstances without risking having the mental health team being alerted to this. The only way I can safely cease contact with her is if the mental health team stops monitoring me after I go to a medical appointment or if I move out of the area, neither of which I can do without transport.

Educates viewers about Aokigahara and the issue of suicide in Japan
It’s a documentary so everything stated is based on facts.
The Forest:
Romanticizes and trivializes suicide, death and the Aokigahara forest which is a real forest in Japan where people go to commit suicide. In fact, suicides in the forest are still happening today so it is extremely disrespectful. It’s been happening for the last 30 years—over 100 bodies are found in Aokigahara every year.
The film is set in Japan but the main cast is dominantly white with a white female blonde lead. Not only that, it also doesn’t mention depression. This then leads to ableist erasure of Asian people, especially Japanese people, with mental health issues.
The film perpetuates the model minority myth which assumes that Asians are universally intelligent or rich, are able-bodied and don’t suffer from mental illness. Everybody believes Asians are rich and smart enough to access healthcare when in fact, this isn’t true at all.
Instead of talking about the real important issues happening today, Hollywood took the tragedies of the Aokigahara forest suicides and turned them into a Hollywood horror movie which in turn, dehumanizes not only Asians around the globe affected by mental health, but those who have already committed suicide.
Please do not see The Forest in the cinemas. Do not buy tickets to see it. A terrible movie does not deserve any support.

It is non-paid but they are expecting at least 1000 kids. All you need to do is show up, be in character, take pictures, and sign autographs.

In the week of August 11-18 2014 we will be running our second live cluedo murder mystery.
This round will take place aboard flight 221 from New York to London. The project will be run on tumblr and twitter and involve the participation of any Sherlock fans who are up for a little mystery solving.
Calling all Detectives
Being a detective means you will be assisting Inspector Gregson in solving the case.
What your job will involve:
Asking questions of the suspects through twitter
Submitting evidence to the tumblr account
At the end of the week submitting who you think the murder is and what the murder weapon is

At the end of the week there will be a draw for the prize. Ways to enter the draw:
Submit correct evidence that moderator deems important: 1 entry
Submit correct solution: 10 entries
We will be drawing two winners, first place gets first pick of the prizes and second gets the remainder

Hey folks! I know I made a similar post a few days ago, but some things have occurred in the meanwhile. It’s only June, but I wanted to mention that for the past two years >The Stitchy Button< has been booked for holiday orders as early as the first week of October!
