I’m jumping on the “Tulio and Miguel look like Loki and Thor” bandwagon really late, but I couldn’t help myself.

That horse is two seconds away from jumping ship.

This was without a doubt the most hearbreaking thing ever

I actually cried

still sobbing

The interesting part of this is that despite their differences, despite the expanding riff between them, Thor still knows his brother. He knows what their mother meant to him. And Thor knows Loki would not be fine with Frigga’s death. He knows his brother would not be pacing around his cell looking like her death didn’t affect him. Loki would be torn. Distraught. A wreck of himself.

Turns out Thor is right. And despite everything, this right here is why they are still brothers.

THIS

IS THE FIRST TIME

THOR DIDN’T FALL FOR IT

EXCUSE ME WHILE I JUMP OFF THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

What hurt me most about this scene is that Loki became the embodiment of grieving; of depression. There are people who try so hard to hide what they are feeling when around others, whether it’s because they want to appear strong, don’t want to be looked down upon or treated differently, or believe that they’re capable of solving their own problems.

For me, the ‘no more illusions’ line translates to: “Stop hiding your pain. Let me help you.” That, to me, shows Thor’s ability to identify Loki’s emotional façade (like when people put on a smile and act happy when they’re really not), and his willingness to help Loki release his inner pain so that it doesn’t devour him from the inside out. That’s what holding in pain does to a person, so it is just so important to me that Thor made Loki expose the visual of how he really felt, and let his grief out.
