Do you think people have to be born with talent to be able to draw? Do you think it helps?
answered:
No.
I think you can be born with certain traits that make it easier to learn to draw a certain way in the same way being born tall can make it easier to play basketball a certain way.
There are aptitudes we can be born with: coordination, visual memory, etc. There are limits, too. We can be born blind. It doesn’t really matter what you’re born with, though. What matters more is that you know yourself. I think the most important thing is to want your own art, you know?
A lot of people think “natural talent” means “drawing like that person over there whose work is so realistic.”
It’s not. Natural talent isn’t drawing like someone else. It’s drawing like yourself—figuring out what your art is supposed to look like and then doing that.
The only thing you really need to be born with is motivation, which sounds like a motivational poster, but honestly. Christy Brown painted with his feet and Muggsy Bogues was 5′3″. They didn’t make art or play basketball how other people did—they played the way that worked the best for them.
reblogging this because in in a really painful rut right now, and seeing my followers, hearing what you have to say and knowing that i inspire so many of you, it makes me want to keep trying.
remember that no matter how bad you feel? there are people who look up to you! dont worry about popularity, or follower counts, just work at it because YOU want to. there will be people who love it. <3

So behind this. I almost cried and i’m at work. I get over joyed with comments and people sharing my stuff and loving my creations. Remember to comment every once in a while.
As I fell asleep last night, pondering Sherlock, as one does…I kept going over a comment someone left on a gif set I reblogged yesterday about not forcing a love story into it, and just enjoying the show for what it is.
It annoyed me at the time - leave Johnlock stuff to the…
